Alicia Suárez

Alicia Suárez is a yoga educator and movement therapist. A former dancer and aerobic instructor, Alicia has been practicing yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2007. She works with individuals who desire to change habitual patterns of movement that are no longer serving them by exploring an integrated and balanced approach to movement and asana practice. People come to her for both preventative and/or therapeutic purposes. Alicia brings a background in formal anatomy, kinesiology, physiology and embryology education, plus training in asana analysis, alignment principles & breathing techniques to her work. She has trained extensively with Amy Matthews and Leslie Kaminoff, authors of the best-selling book "Yoga Anatomy." Her teaching is also greatly influenced by her studies in Body-Mind Centering® and her participation in Tom Myers' Anatomy Trains Courses and Dr. Gil Hedley's Hands-On Cadaver Dissection Workshops. Currently, she is pursuing a certification as a Birth Doula with DONA International. Alicia specializes in one-on-one sessions. She also teaches group classes and workshops in NYC. She is completely bilingual and at ease teaching in both English and Spanish. She is a member of the Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
