The Breathing Project provides a safe yoga environment, a place where your physical differences are respected and worked with permitting exploration and experimentation.
Our approach — non-dogmatic and anatomically grounded — uses the breath as the integrating principle of yoga practice and personal growth. In our bright and open space, a community of teachers and students has come together to learn, teach and find inspiration. Our teachers are trained in a wide variety of health fields including yoga therapy, movement therapy, biomechanics, dance, anatomy and philosophy.
The Breathing Project's founder, Leslie Kaminoff, has drawn inspiration from the principles expressed in the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya and his son T.K.V. Desikachar, who emphasize a breath-centered individualized approach to Yoga and Yoga Therapy.
We offer group and private yoga instruction as well as therapeutic sessions. There are special classes for pregnant women, mothers and babies, increasing bone strength, and mental wellness as well as our innovative, year-long Advanced Studies Course.
A successful fundraiser will insure our ability to continue and expand The Breathing Project’s educational and non-profit efforts into the future. In addition, we will be raising funds for Namarupa, to support their marvelous magazine. We welcome you to join us in this journey of learning and growth.
