Madelyn Freundlich

Madelyn Freundlich began her journey as a yoga teacher after more than 10 years as a yoga practitioner. Her yoga teacher certification is through Yoga Works where she completed her 200 hour teacher training as well as specialized yoga teacher training in working with students with hip and knee challenges. Both prior to and since her yoga teacher certification, Madelyn has worked closely with Elizabeth Paplinger in co-teaching Yoga for Mental Wellness at The Breathing Project, enriching her teaching knowledge and skills in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges.
Madelyn became certified to teach yoga to cancer survivors in 2010 and since that time has taught at Gilda’s Club, Hope Lodge and the OM Yoga Center. Her yoga teaching certifications also include restorative yoga, chair yoga and pranayama (breath work). She is currently working toward certification in teaching yoga for scoliosis, studying with Elise Miller. Madelyn is certified in the MELT method for hand and foot treatment. Her practice extends to Reiki as a level 2 practitioner and to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) on which she has been trained through the Duke Center for Integrative Medicine. Madelyn is certified as a primary group exercise instructor and personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She specializes in fitness work one-on-one and in groups with older adults.
In 2011, Madelyn created Tulaa Yoga and Fitness to provide private and group yoga and fitness sessions. As a yoga teacher and fitness professional and as a licensed social worker, Madelyn focuses on supporting individuals through mind-body work to achieve greater flexibility and strength, centeredness through mindful breathing, and inner peace and calmness. Her special interests are in working with individuals who are experiencing health and well being challenges. Madelyn is available for private and group yoga sessions, Reiki and MBSR as well as personal fitness sessions.
