200-Hour Vajra Yoga Teacher Training at The Breathing Project

Jill in DDogThe Breathing Project is very proud to host Jill Satterfield's unique Vajra Yoga Teacher Training programs.

Jill's training is based on the principle that a rich, challenging and committed physical and mental practice is the foundation to becoming a skilled and inspiring teacher. Through physical postures that train the body and mind to come together, and the study of the mind, Buddhist philosophy and mentoring, you will gain an advanced understanding of your own mind and body. Our teachers are dedicated to facilitating your journey as both practioner and teacher.

This 8 month training begins either in September or February. You may join any time before the first intensive scheduled for that particular semester. As you progress in the training, your 'role' will begin to change- you will begin by learning about yourself; your body, your mind - by learning alignment on your own body first, and meditation with your own mind. You will continue to evolve and learn how to see and work with other bodies and minds from your own experiences, and by observing others, adjusting others, working closely with our teachers and beginning to take your own seat as a teacher. Those beginning in September will graduate in June, those who begin in February will graduate in December.
The training can accomodate most work schedules and has been successfully completed by those living outside of the NYC area. We are comitted to making the training work in a way that will allow you to participate with ease!

The training is made up of the following elements:
• Once a month weekend intensives (asana, anatomy, Buddhist training in meditation and philosophy)
• Anatomy with Amy Matthews (co-author of Yoga Anatomy), asana and Buddhism with Jill Satterfield
• 2 weekly classes (with Jill, Amy or Leslie Kaminoff) to participate in, observe or assist
• 2 private sessions with Jill Satterfield each semester
• Assigned reading in the areas of Buddhism and yoga
• Community dinners and events

You are also very welcome to build your own "training package" come to the weekends that interest you, take privates and classes - please email Jill for details, or visit the Vajra Yoga website.
